You Are Doing It Wrong!

When setting out to make personal changes,
most people do the following:

1. Read everything available on the subject to get informed.

2. Consider making a change.

3. Look for that magic pill for the easy fix.


I was no different than most people.

My early research about my OYs, or uncomfortable situations, uncovered many opportunities for change. But, I was not ready to release my old comfort habits.

Comfort habits are those things we do to make ourselves more comfortable when life feels out of control like eating comfort foods, drinking alcohol, fingernail biting, approval seeking, overachieving, and security blankets.


I had no idea why I was stuck in what I thought was a comfortable mess. I slipped into the abyss of poor health and was looking for a magic pill to pull me out.

I read everything I could about new diet fads and get-rich-quick scams. I researched for ways that would allow me to continue surviving in my unhealthy state of negativity and worry.


During my search for magic pills to fix my discomfort, I considered making changes in my life. I wanted to experience joy.

But, I was not committed to overhauling my thought process. I wasn't ready to reprogram my mind to release the habits I became comfortable using when I was feeling out of control.


Then, I learned how to shift my thoughts. My new FUN way of thinking about life has opened my mind to opportunities that I never thought were possible. #TurnYourOYtoJOY
